There are seven future tenses, commonly used. The fallowing are the structure and usage. Future Simple Structure: positive: S + will/shall + verb negative: S + will not/shall not + verb question: Will/Shall + S + verb * Future simple is used such as making promises, predictions based on intuition, unplanned actions and habits. Future Continuous Structure; positive: S + will be + verb+ing negative: S + will not be + verb+ing question: Will + S + be + verb+ing * Future Continuous is used for future actions in progress, guesses about the future and polite questions about somebody's intention. Future Perfect Structure; positive: S + will have + verb( past form ) negative: S + will not have + verb( past form ) question: Will + S + have + verb( past form ) * Future Perfect is used on actions or situations that will last in the future for a specific time, certainty that an action was complete and completion of action before a specified point in the future. Future Perfect Continuous Structure; positive: S + will have been + verb+ing
negative: S + will not have been + verb+ing positive: Will + S + have been + verb+ing * Future Perfect Continuous is used in expressing cause of a future situation and duration at a definite moment in a the future. ' going to' future structure; positive: S + going to + verb( present form ) negative : S + not going to + verb( present form ) question: helping verb + S + going to + verb( present form ) * Going to future is used for future plans/intentions made before speaking, and predictions based on present evidence. * Present Simple is used as future form for timetables and schedules, to suggest a more formal situation and to suggest a more impersonal tone. * Present Continuous is used as future form for decisions and plans without a specific time and for definite arrangements.
