The content of this unit consisted of two videos. The first video was an example of what not to do while teaching. The second video was an example of what a teacher should do to teach a class. The teacher in the first video was somewhat rude and seemed like he was in a hurry. The teacher did not introduce himself or learn any of the students names. Therefore when calling on a student he just pointed and did not bother to learn their names. In the second video, the first thing the teacher did was introduce himself and ask the students their names by putting a piece of paper in front of them with their names on it. That idea is a great way to learn the students name. Especially since their names are hard to pronounce because of where the students are from. The teacher in the first video intimidated the students by always repeating that this is easy, anyone can do it. The teacher did not do that in the second video. Also in the first video the teacher was not organized. I feel there was no Engage Phase of the lesson. The teacher also did not give any instruction during the study phase to help the students understand what they were suppose to do. Therefore they were confused and felt unsure of themselves. In the second video the teacher did explain instructions and the
students were able to work on their worksheets. In the first video there really was no ESA lesson plan happening while in the second video you can clearly see he uses the patchwork ESA lesson plan. These videos really were a help on what a teacher should and shouldn't do during a class.
