Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This was the most simple unit of them all and it caused me a bit of a headache as I am one who likes to absorb almost every detail possible. It seems that teaching and learning have developed so rapidly that sadly it is impossible to retain all the information it is always a work in progress. This mostly stems from in this unit there being different test for different countries and different levels of students etc. Interesting finds but not too much to talk about.Unit 2 focused on explaining the different methods of teaching, elaborating on which are somewhat outdated, and others which are much more common. It also described the ESA Technique, and the different ways in which you can perform each of the stages. I learned a lot from this unit, especially how and when to correct students, as well as different types of ESA usage. This information will be vital to creating fun, engaging, and productive classes for ESL students.
