This video is part of our series on the past tenses in English. In this video, we take a look at the past perfect continuous tense. This tense is used to talk about two actions in the past focusing on the fact that one of the two actions had been continuing at another point in the past.
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
While the material in this unit was all review for me, I specifically appreciated the examples of how this could be taught in a classroom. The text and video provided teaching examples that seemed engaging for students. I would like to see more examples of how teaching the present tense would be demonstrated when teaching adults versus students. When teaching these concepts to school-aged students, when would be the appropriate developmental time/age?For me being a good teacher is not always about the subject matter, but rather we should focus on learner or students. our students may have different needs, they may need different style or they may need special attention, it may be hard or difficult to the part of the teacher but if we really want our students to learn, we should give our time and focus to them. We need to be student centered in order to provide the necessary needs of our students.
