Athens is an exciting and vibrant city where the past meets the present. The hub of one of the most famous civilizations in history, Athens was formed more than 3,000 years ago upon the rock of Acropolis. Athens is of huge significance to studies such as art, history, philosophy and religion.
Upon completion of our Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language course, graduates will earn a must-have, entry-level teaching qualification from the world’s largest TEFL certificate provider.
The historical significance of Athens is obvious and hugely popular with tourists. The highlight is probably the famed Acropolis. Athens has almost too many sites of historical interest to list, the best advice is just to go out and explore!
If you are looking for shops, cafés and restaurants, Plaka is very popular, while those who want to see traditional whitewashed houses built amongst winding streets and steps should visit Anafiotika.
Getting around Athens is not a problem, with buses, trams and the metro service available. For those who love to shop, Athens has something for you. You can also visit the local markets, most famously found at Monastiraki, as well as Ermou and Aiolou streets.
When trainees need to unwind after a busy day on the course or out sightseeing, there are plenty of great beaches for relaxing. Vouliagmeni, Varkiza, Glyfada and Kavouri beaches are all nearby, with Alimos nearest to the centre of Athens.
In addition to certifying trainees as TEFL teachers, we also offer worldwide lifetime job support so we can help course graduates find teaching work in Greece or anywhere else there is demand for qualified EFL teachers.
