First video. Repeatedly saying it is easy but studentsÂ’ body language display confusion. The teacherÂ’s back is to the students while writing on the whiteboard. Does not seem to know the studentsÂ’ names by heart. Kept asking any questions, should have students explain it instead. Pass handout without giving directions. Sitting down while students doing the worksheet and not trying to read the studentsÂ’ body language to gage if the students know what they are doing or not. In the part about two things an xxx animal can do. It seems some of the animals he mention, the students donÂ’t know the animal, he should have asked the students for a list of animals and then use those animals as an example. The instructor then jump back to his seat and the students seems to continue on their worksheet. A student were cheating off of another student. The teacher took his paper and then crumble afterwards, this can be interpreted as not caring or disrespecting his own work. The instructor was erasing the whiteboard, he should have erase the whiteboard when the students were working on their worksheet instead of sitting down. Told the students to draw a picture but didnÂ’t really tell them anymore instructions. Teacher was reading a book or trying to read a book after
telling them to draw, seems to be very unprofessional. The teacher talked too much, students didnÂ’t have much of a chance to talk. There is no rapport between students and teacher. Second video. The teacher introduce himself and then try to learn everyoneÂ’s name. The teacher smiles which is good. The teacher is well prepared to hand out pen and paper. He provides a relaxing and friendly atmospheres. Students are helping each other / correcting each other. Engage with the students and encourage them to think of the answer instead of giving them the answer. Bring in animal pictures to show the students. Very animated and lots of body language. Get everyone to interact and speak. In the second video the teacher was much better than the first video.
