So, we'll focus first of all on a speaking skills lesson and perhaps a starting point for this would be to ask a question which is: Why do we speak to each other? The reason that it's important to ask ourselves this question is that whatever answers there are to this should be present in our lessons. So, why do we speak to each other? Well, there are a multitude of answers to that but when you boil them all down to their essence, they probably actually come down to one or two things. We communicate to each other by speaking because of either a need. We need something. We want something or a desire to achieve something.
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
The tough thing about this unit was re-learning the specific names and grammar of the tenses. As English speakers, we use every one of these tenses on a daily basis. The difficulty is being able to differentiate the specific tenses from one another accurately. This unit was very helpful with understanding the common errors that will be experienced by non English speakers. I feel much more prepared in being able to explain this grammar and spot mistakes. This unit is broken down into three main parts. First, it starts with an introduction to testing -here level testing and needs analysis are the focal points. Second, we have the \"core\" of the unit. This part is about syllabus design and its determining elements such as limitng factors and types of syllabus. Finally, the unit deals with assement. In this part, the types of tests and end of course questionnaire are the central points of the explanation.
