This video is part of our series on the past tenses in English. We start off the series with the past simple tense. This tense is used to express completed actions in the past. In this video, we focus on the structure of the past simple.
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This eighth unit deals with the future tenses. It explains the future simple, the future continuous, the future perfect, the future perfect continuous, be going + infinitive, the present simple and the present continuous. It explains the differences between these tenses, their usage, the typical student errors and mistakes and it provides you with some ideas on how to teach them. This unit was useful as it allowed me to revise my knowledge of grammar. In this unit we looked at present tenses and it was really difficult. It took me a lot longer to get through this unit than the other ones because there was so much information. I've never really studied English from a purely grammatical approach before so there were a lot of technical terms that I wasn't used to but thanks to the many examples and detailed explanations I feel that I have a decent grasp on the usage and construction of present tenses.
