Our teacher training facility in Rome offers so much more than just a certificate for teaching.
Rome is at the center of European history and Italian culture. For thousands of years, the city has played an integral part of European religion, history and culture. Attending our course in Italy’s capital is a once in a lifetime opportunity to absorb Rome in ways that an average tourist can only envy.
‘The Eternal City’ as it’s known, is breathtaking. Travelers can inundate their senses with leisurely strolls down cobblestone streets or by sitting in one of Italy’s famous city squares (piazzas). From touring sites that have witnessed a turbulent past, to a simple afternoon spent relaxing with a cooling portion of gelato (Italian ice cream), our trainees love it here.
Rome is as cosmopolitan as it is modern. It’s one of the few cities that escaped the bombing raids of WWII, so centuries-old buildings and architecture remain unscathed. It has retained its Renaissance and baroque character as well, and the city center of Rome is rightfully listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Rome hosts many festivals as well. Exhibitions, concerts and other shows take place throughout the year and themes include everything from fashion and modern art to theater, music and dance from all over Europe.
With our internationally accredited certificate in-hand, trainees are witnesses to all of Rome’s rich history, culture and beauty. Teaching English here is the best way to acquaint oneself with this truly magnificent city. We’ll also do everything we can to ensure trainees get the most they possibly can from living and working here.
Rome is on the West coast, midway between Italy’s northern and southern borders. While the city is expansive, the historic center is compact and very tourist-friendly. Only 12 miles from the coast, Rome is perfectly located to combine the aspects of a major city with the relaxed nature of Mediterranean life and its beaches.
In addition to certifying trainees as TEFL teachers, we also offer worldwide lifetime job support so we can help course graduates find teaching work in Italy or anywhere else there is demand for qualified EFL teachers.
Apply now, and you could soon be living and teaching right in the center of Rome.

Our TEFL training center in Rome is housed in a modern building with comfortable, well-furnished classrooms. It’s a lovely setting, equipped with video facilities, the Internet and a wide range of other teaching resources.
With the help of our experienced training staff, you’ll deliver lessons to real EFL students who do not speak English as their native language. Students are enthusiastic and provide a supportive environment in which to learn the skills needed to become an effective teacher. In addition to the trainers and students, our office staff are helpful, diligent and will make every effort to help you throughout your training.
The school is located very near the Vatican and a nearby subway line that provides easy and convenient access to all areas of interest within Rome. Surrounding the center is an array of cafes, shops, bars and restaurants.
An additional course is also available to trainees who wish to study Italian language. It is exclusive to our center’s trainees and cannot be taken as a course on its own. Each course starts with four intensive weeks of Italian language learning. Classes are conducted in small groups and students come from cities around the world. The course is fully accredited and facilitated by one of the most acclaimed language schools in Italy.
If you wish to participate in the Italian language course, please note this in the "additional comments" section of the application form.

We are happy to offer a choice of clean, comfortable and well-furnished accommodation for our TESOL course trainees in Rome at very reasonable prices. We have two main options:
Our most popular option is to stay in a private room in an apartment shared with an Italian landlord/landlady. The kitchen and other living areas are shared, although some apartments do include a private bathroom. Our second choice is a private room in an apartment shared with other trainees taking the same TESOL course. This option is arranged with the assistance of a reputable agency that we deal with on a regular basis.
All of the apartments are clean, comfortable and adequately furnished for a 4-week stay and are generally situated just outside the city center. The apartments are all located in areas where there is a plentiful supply of restaurants, cafes and other entertainment venues. If you have any special accommodation requirements, please let us know and we will do our best to help.

Blankets and sheets are provided, but bath towels are not. Our apartment accommodation prices start from around 450 € for a single room and 400 € for a shared room.

What travel documents will I need for italy?
ExpandThis information is specific to your country of origin and always subject to change. For the most accurate and current information regarding travel documents to Italy, please contact your nearest Italian consulate. There is also a very good chance that all the information you require (application documents, application fees, duration of processing documents) is available on the embassy’s webpage.
What is the course schedule?
ExpandClasses generally begin at 9:30 a.m. and run until 1:30 p.m. during which grammar and theory are discussed. Afternoons are spent planning lessons with our trainers. Trainees then teach their lessons during the afternoons and evenings, possibly until 8:30 p.m.
What can I expect during teaching practice?
ExpandAnnually, our school has about 900 students of all ages and all levels, so our trainees will have the opportunity to experience all kinds of teaching situations. The students come from many backgrounds, countries (though typically Italy) and work places.
Lessons are based upon real teaching resources found all over the world and you will have the chance to create your own materials as well. You will receive the aid of your course trainer throughout lesson planning and receive immediate feedback on your lesson after it’s been delivered. Practicum is assessed and a satisfactory assessment is required to earn your TEFL/TESOL certificate.
Who usually attends the course?
ExpandOn average we have about twenty five students enrolled on each program, most of whom are American or British, but we also have students from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa amongst others. Ages range from 20 to 60 years old, although the majority of our students are between 22 and 30 years old.
Is there a dress code?
ExpandDuring trainees’ lessons, casual attire is allowed. During teaching practice, you will need to dress in trousers/skirts and closed-toe shoes. Men need collared shirts, while women need to wear conservative tops that will cover their shoulders. No visible tattoos or facial piercings are allowed while teaching local students.
What should I bring for course studies?
ExpandJust like the first day of any other school, you will need some supplies. We will give you your course material and notebook, but you will need to have your own pens and pencils. You may also want scotch tape, a stapler, highlighters, colored pencils and markers, glue, scissors and white-out. You will also need to buy your own paper for the photocopier. All of these materials can be purchased from a store near the school if you do not wish to bring them from home.
Please note that we have wireless internet available at the school for hooking up a laptop but normally there are no phone lines in the accommodation. There are numerous internet facilities all over Rome and should you require a computer for coursework at the school, we have a computer with internet access available in your classroom.
