Our TEFL training center is located in the very modern, Mediterrani Escola building—right in the heart of Barcelona and very close to the famous Plaça España. You’ll find getting around surprisingly convenient and there are three metro lines within easy reach of the school. There are also regular busses that run both day and night.
With the help of our experienced training staff, you’ll deliver lessons to real EFL students who do not speak English as their native language. Students are enthusiastic and provide a supportive environment in which to learn the skills needed to become an effective teacher. In addition to the trainers and students, our office staff are helpful, diligent and will make every effort to help you throughout your training.
The school’s facilities include everything you’ll need in order to successfully complete your course. Our classrooms are welcoming and we have a wide range of teaching resources. We offer free Internet and a café on the 8th floor that includes a sun terrace. We also have two computer suites that each hold over 100 computers.
If you can only stay in Barcelona for two weeks, you ought to try our combined course. This option allows you to complete portions of our course online before you arrive. The accommodation fees are not part of the course price and you are free to choose whichever accommodation option you prefer.
You are not obliged to use the accommodation provided by the school and you are welcome to make your own accommodation arrangements. If you choose to use our accommodation, it should be paid for either by cash, PayPal or bank transfer directly to the school at the start of the course.
Our TEFL training center in Barcelona offers two types of accommodation: a private bedroom in a shared apartment, or a home stay with a local family. Both options are located no more than 20 minutes from the training center and within easy reach of a wide range of restaurants, cafés, pubs and various other entertainment venues.
All accommodation is safe, clean and comfortable. You’ll always have a private bedroom and will share the living spaces, kitchen and bathroom. Washing machines, towels and bed linens are all provided.
Accommodation costs for the duration of the course range from US$ 500-575, depending on the room you’re allocated. Allocations are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so the earlier you confirm your place on the course, the wider your choice of accommodation options.
Please be aware that a US$ 215 deposit is required for accommodation. This will be paid when you arrive on the course and it will be returned to you when you leave your accommodation—provided that you leave your accommodation in the same state as when you arrived.

Course deposits must be paid to our administrative center. Credit/debit card payments are the fastest and cheapest way to pay, but we also accept payments via Western Union, Pay Pal and bank transfer. While there are no deadlines for a deposit, courses can fill up quickly and your seat will only be reserved after the deposit has been paid.
Once you make your deposit, you will receive an email with an informational packet that provides detailed information about the course and Barcelona itself.
The balance of course fees are payable on the first day of class and can be made with a credit/debit card, cash or travelers’ check.
Course fees are all-inclusive so you won’t be asked to pay additional costs for course related materials or services. This also includes course moderation, accreditation fees and lifetime job assistance.
What are my accommodation options?
ExpandBarcelona student accommodation consists of either a room in an apartment shared with your fellow trainees or an apartment shared with a Spanish or English speaking host. In both cases you will have your own private room and share all the communal facilities including the kitchen, washing machine for laundry and bathroom. All rooms are clean, comfortable, adequately furnished and are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. The cost of utilities is included. Sheets are also provided, however, you will need to bring a towel. All rooms are located within easy reach of various restaurants, bars and entertainment sites.
What travel documents will I need for spain?

What is the course schedule?
ExpandFrom Monday to Friday, there are input sessions every morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. when trainees learn classroom management, grammar, language and culture and other practical aspects of the course. Lunch is from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. From 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. trainees prepare their lessons with the assistance of the instructors and then from either 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. they teach their lessons to Spanish students. These lessons are followed by immediate feedback from the instructors. You will not be teaching every afternoon, we aim to provide six to eight hours of observed teaching practice over the 4-week course. These lessons are taught from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, trainees are free after 12:30 p.m. and the weekend is also free. You are, however, encouraged to take your books with you to the beach so you can study over the weekend! In addition to these hours, there is also time that must be spent preparing materials and completing various assignments.
What can I expect during teaching practice?
ExpandWe use local Spanish students for the trainees’ teaching practice. Spanish students are very keen and enthusiastic and classes are usually a very positive experience.
Who usually attends the course?
ExpandOn average we have around ten to fifteen trainees enrolled on each course, although this does vary throughout the year. Most of the participants are American, British, Canadian or Australian, although we do accept non-native speakers of English who have a high proficiency in the language.
Is there a dress code?
ExpandDuring trainees’ lessons, casual attire is allowed. During teaching practice, you will need to dress in trousers/skirts and closed-toe shoes. Men need collared shirts, while women need to wear conservative tops that will cover their shoulders. Men also need to shave or keep facial hair neatly trimmed. No visible tattoos or facial piercings are allowed while teaching local students.
What should I bring for course studies?
ExpandPlease be sure to arrive on the first day of the course with a notebook and a pen. We also encourage you to bring a laptop as we have Wi-Fi at the training center. We will provide all course materials for you so there is no need to bring anything else for the course itself.
What documents do I need for finding employment after the course?
ExpandOf course, you need your passport. When you secure work you may also be asked to provide notarized copies of your birth certificate and college degrees. You might also consider obtaining an international driving permit if you intend to drive while in the country.
