Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
In this unit, I learned about modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. There are three types of phrasal verbs. These types are type 1- intransitive, type 2- transitive separable, and type 3- transitive inseparable. Modals can be used to show or express obligation, advice, ability, permission/prohibition, and possibility/probability. The modals are can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must, have to, have got to, need to, needn't and ought to.This unit chronicles the various forms of the present tense. It introduces their form, usages, typical student errors and how to implement them into your \"Activate\" portion of the lesson. There are extremely specific usages for each group of the present tense that most Native English speakers take fro granted because it comes naturally. It is clear to see how mastering the tenses of verbs as an English Language Learner can be extremely difficult at times.
