This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit refers to lesson planning and it can be seen that planning a successful and strategic lesson can highly determine whether or not a class can be run successfully and smoothly. There are some key elements have been highlighted in this unit, such as, the main functions of lesson planning, some basic principles of lesson planning, the structure and sequence of lesson planning and so on. In addition, the most important thing that I have learnt from this unit refers to the structures of lesson planning. Since a well-structured lesson planning will significantly help me about what I am going to achieve and how I am going to do it. Moreover, some key elements are included in a lesson plan involves learner objectives, context, anticipated problems for students, anticipated problems for teacher, personal aims, teaching aids, the main procedure and its associated phase, time, and the type of interaction. For me, I believe that learner objective is far more important in comparison to other key elements of structuring a lesson plan because letting students know clearly about what they are learning and doing in class will significantly help keep them more engaged and on track. Furthermore, to be able to make sure the lesson can be run as enjoyable as possible the class monitoring
should be conducted regularly and also the class performance should be evaluated periodically in order to identify and collect all the feedbacks such as teaching strengths and weaknesses for future development. And the feedbacks can be collected from students, peer observation, viewing a video tape of my teaching and so on. Accordingly, a productive lesson is not one in which everything goes exactly as planned, but one in which both students and teachers learn from each other. ", I think the most important thing about planing a lesson is being flexible. Whatever we will be planing will be just a guideline of what are we going to do. Being to strict with our lessons will make it predictable and boring and the students won't like it
