Our 60-hour course will give you a solid introduction to the world of EFL teaching. The relatively short length of the course means it is particularly popular with people looking for an insight into Teaching English as a Foreign Language, as well as those who are thinking of working as a volunteer teacher. One of the most attractive features of the course is the flexibility you are given to complete it at your own pace. Graduates of our 60-hour course will also be eligible for our unique support services that are available for the duration of your EFL teaching career.
After your course registration has been confirmed you will receive an email containing details that will enable you to sign-in to our online training course system. From your personal section of our system you will have access to the course materials which you can choose to either study directly online or download to your own computer.
Once you feel that you have fully absorbed the information contained within each unit, your understanding of the materials will be assessed before you proceed to the next unit. When all the units have been completed you will then be required to complete a final essay writing task. The final essay writing task will be submitted online for evaluation by our course tutors. Upon successful completion of all the course units and the final essay writing task, you will graduate and receive your introduction to TEFL certificate.
If you choose the tutored option you will receive the valuable support and assistance of our experienced and dedicated online tutors for the duration of the course. At any time you will be able to contact an experienced online tutor with any problems or questions you may have. All your correspondence will be answered via email within one working day.
Our 60-hour course has been designed to provide a solid introduction to the fascinating world of Teaching English as a Foreign Language. The course materials contain all the essential skills and knowledge a novice teacher needs to begin life in an EFL classroom.
Please note that many employers will insist on their teachers having a certificate of 120 hours or more (see our 120-hour certificate course here).
As this is an introductory level course, the training materials you receive will focus mainly on the specific skills that you need to deliver an effective lesson in the classroom. The subjects covered include teaching theories and methodologies, classroom management, lesson planning and how to test and evaluate your students’ progress. Due to the short format of the 60-hour course, it does not cover language awareness issues and certain other important components that are included in our 120-hour course.
Our course materials are organized into ten individual units that have been specifically designed to gradually develop your understanding of the subject matter, without overloading you with too much information at once. The convenient structure of the course means that you should be able to comfortably work through it at a pace that suits your personal circumstances and learning style.
The course is designed to be as flexible as possible for our students. You will be given up to six months to finish the course, and within this time frame you can set your own schedule.
With the tutored version of this course you also receive the added bonus of our unique teacher training videos.
