While teaching English to groups of adults is clearly a popular area of the TEFL industry, teaching English to young learners is a rapidly expanding market in many parts of the world. Our CTEYL course has been designed to provide you with the specific skills and techniques necessary to create an effective classroom environment for this specialized form of English language teaching.

When teaching English to adult learners it is often assumed that they are in the classroom through their own choice, when teaching young learners this is generally not the case. The aim of this course is to focus on educational theories, teaching methodologies and specific activities that will help you create lessons to keep your young students interested and motivated in the classroom. As well as the extra skills and knowledge you will gain from completing this qualification, it will also greatly enhance your employment options worldwide.

CTEYL Target Group

• This course is designed for those who are already TEFL/TESOL or equivalent certified.
• The course is designed for teachers who are currently working or intend to work within the field of teaching English to young learners.
• No previous experience or training in young learners’ education is required to complete this course.

The structure of our CTEYL course is similar in design to our main 60-hour and 120-hour online TEFL courses. Once you have fully studied the materials for an individual unit, your understanding of its contents will be assessed before you proceed to the next unit.

The course has a maximum time limit of six months; however, within this time frame you can work at any pace you feel comfortable with. Upon successful completion of all the course units, you will graduate and receive your online Certificate in Teaching English to Young Learners.
