This Unit provided a good insight on class room teaching. Observations from First video. Teacher's body language was showing that he was not interested to be there. There was no smile . The teacher dint introduce himself or ask the students for their names. The teacher had no eye contact and looked nervous. The students looked more confused as the teacher kept saying this is an easy lesson. Teacher never taught or gave an explanation as to what he is expecting from the children. The teacher dint answer to the questions asked by the students. In the second Video , the teacher was very presentable walked in with a smile , wished the students and wrote his name down. He also encouraged the students to have their names shown up at their desk so that he could call them by their names. This builds in a good rapport between students and teachers . The teacher had a good discussion at the engage phase and extracted more from students and explained modal auxiliary verbs with good understanding of students. The teacher gave turns to each student to answer the questions and he kept the class engaged and active. Students were looking more confident and willingness to learn. The study phase the teacher explained as to what is expected and how to fill in the exercise sheets which helped the
students to complete their work. The active phase the teacher did not get the expected result from all the students probably because the students failed to understand as to what was expected. The teacher could have given a more detailed comparison to the subject so that the students would have achieved what was expected. The teacher appreciated the students and made them feel comfortable and confident. Definitely the second lesson was much better than the first one.
