Effective classroom communication is very important in ensuring that teaching and learning take place .in order to maintain a perfect communication balance in the classroom , the teacher should always look for strategies to create the need and desire in his students to interact .strategies to inspire him ,capture his attention and to turn him into a voracious learner.we could say that all this starts from the teacher's attitude and his plan to manage the classroom. the teacher as usual goes through two steps in delivering the lesson. The accuracy in the study stage and the fluency in the activate stage .they are equally important .the language of the accuracy activity is controlled by the teacher .he ensures that the student has a concise perception and and reproduction of a target item which could be a sound ,a word , a sentence structure .drilling and prompting are involved in the accuracy activity because when the student mispronounces a word ,the error would not be apparent to him or to his classmates .in the accuracy activity the student is not given real-life tasks and is assessed on how few mistakes he makes .in the fluency activity ,the output is controlled by the teacher but the language is not .the student practices in speaking , reading , writing and works on
his fluency in acquisition of spontaneous linguistic communication .tasks often simulate real-life situations like guided role-play ,model dialogue , information gap .he is assessed on how well he understood the lesson .every teacher may come across communication setbacks in the classroom .the student may not be fully interested in learning and interacting with his teacher .this could be attributed to a lack of confidence ,pressure ,intimidation .the teacher should work on creating a comfortable learning environment and defuse the inferiority complex in the student .by engaging the student in pair-work and group –work ,always have a plan in mind about to bring the classroom alive and encourage a sustained interaction .a typical creative speaking activity lesson is split into engage ,study , activate stages. the teacher in the engage stage asks his students for example about weather forecasts in their countries or other countries then in the study stage elicits relevant vocabulary and give them gap-fill exercises to complete . in the activate stage, students write on cards names of countries .the teacher distributes them between pairs and each pair has to prepare a weather forecast for the country on the card .before the teacher starts the speaking activity .he should have
aims to reach , how much time should be attributed ,the availability of the materials .when the teacher starts the activity , the teacher should focus on arousing the student’s interest in the topic ,increase his vocabulary ,give him instructions ,keep a low profile in monitoring ,never do instant corrections .during the feedback , the teacher should focus on improvements and not on mistakes, the common errors are to be rectified either by discussing them in private with the student or assigning a remedial work to do at home .we move on to writing skills ,the teacher is the student ‘s guide in learning how to frame a word correctly . its critical to create a desire in the student to read books because they are a good rehearsal to help him improve his abilities in handwriting, spelling , layout , punctuation .this is a typical creative writing activity lesson .in the engage stage the teacher for example shows the student a picture of a newspaper or a magazine and asks them what’s happening. in the engage stage the teacher shows them cartoon strips with speech bubbles and asks them to elicit the difference and fill in the gaps then in the activate stage he gives each pair cartoon strips done in vertical order with dotted line in between . And they fill In the missing
informations .after they are done each pair reads its work to the rest of the group .communication games can be adapted to language teaching as they are important part of the syllabus .they can provide useful ,controlled and free practice .
