This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In unit eight I learned about using the future tenses. The future tense is a very complex part of the English language with seven common tenses. The tenses that are most commonly used are 'be going + infinitive' and the present continuous tense. The 'present simple' and 'present continuous' tenses are used normally in the present tense but can also be used in the future. The future simple tense is used when a future fact or certainty is being talked about. It is also used when a promise is being made, a prediction being based on no present evidence is made, an assumption, spontaneous decision, or threat is made. The future continuous tense uses the form 'subject + will + be + ing'. An example would be 'I will be going to the zoo'. The future perfect is used when something in the future will be completed. A good example for this would be 'You will be done with school in ten days.' Future perfect continuous is used to describe how long something will take in the future and will be completed. A good example for that would be 'she will have been running for four hours.' The future be going or going to plus the infinitive tense is used when talking about intentions, predictions based on present evidences, and plans. This tense is often confused with the future simple.
A good example for this tense is 'I am going to sing at the concert next month'. When it comes to the present simple and the present continuous tenses I referred back to unit four, the present tense. Altogether the future tenses refer to actions of the future.
